Estée Lauder double wear - Review

I went to mall to pick up a sample of the Estée Lauder double wear in Cashew 3w2.

This foundation claims that it's a 15-hour staying power flawless all day.  Worry-free, long-wearing makeup stays fresh and looks natural through heat, humidity, nonstop activity.  Won't change color, smudge or come off on clothes.  Feeling lightweight and comfortable.

Formula facts:
• oil-free
• dermatologist-tested
• non-acnegic
• fragrance-free

Award winner in Allure magazine Best of Beauty 2013 for "Best Foundation Shade Range".

Coverage:
Medium, buildable

Finish:
Natural, Semi-Matte

This foundation is a 1 oz. price tag at $37

It's just been at least two weeks since I've tried this foundation and here are My thoughts:

I've been trialing out a ten day sample in the shade cashew 3w2, new formula!

Estée Lauder's Double Wear has been raved about for a long time now and I don't know why only now I've tried it.

I always thought that double wear was heavy, cakey foundation that I didn't need as I don't have bad skin and I don't like foundations feeling heavy.  I couldn't have been more wrong.  I also thought this foundation would be full coverage, in which it could be, but only if you build it.

Double wear is actually a medium to full coverage foundation depending on how many layers you want, which is why it's so versatile.  You can use less or more depending on how much coverage you need and in which areas as it layers so beautifully.  when applied it doesn't feel cakey or heavy.  The texture doesn't feel thick its quite liquid-y, but it blends like a dream.

I can't comment on the old formula as I have only tried this one.  As for my shade, it's a perfect match.  I use 'cashew 3w2' and it very much yellow enough for my skin which I love.  The lady at counter said tawny 3w1 would perfect for me, but I find it being too neutral, which would make my face look ashy.  It looks quite orange when poured out and when I first applied it, it looks great!

So here is a photo without the foundation; the only thing I have is my moisturizer and primer:

Here I applied half on my face:
You can really tell a difference.

Here's a close up on one side applied:

And the other without:

Me with just Double Wear on:

Here's me wearing the foundation on its own, no powder or anything.  I've only applied one layer and an extra layer on my cheeks to cover my redness.  I expected the finish to be super matte but it's not.  It's more of a semi-matte finish, it definitely mattifies but just looks natural.  Not mask like and not cakey.

Rest of my make-up done!

This foundation doesn't accentuate pores and one of the most important qualities for this foundation is that it looks great close-up.  I can shove my nose up against a mirror (not literally) and it looks just as flawless as it does from far away - this is a big thing for me as I'm quite fanatical about how makeup looks close up.  It's all well and good being nicely made up, but it needs to look natural, not like as if you applied layers foundation that's just sitting on the surface - GROSS!

I use a dusting my ELF HD powder (dupe for Makeup Forever HD) through my t-zone and under my eyes for my concealer but it's not essential as the foundation last amazingly on its own.  I've always had to set every foundation I've tried for fear of looking greasy, but this one stays put without.

The photos above we're taken after a LONG day at work.  I applied the Estée Lauder Double Wear just before 11pm and took these photos after 9pm. A dusting of powder through my t-zone and for concealer on application and that's it.  No powdering during the day, no touch ups or re-applying -NOTHING.  You can see a slight breakthrough of shine from the flash, but after 10+ hours of wearing this foundation, I'm very impressed.  I looked close up in the mirror numerous times that day and my skin was still semi-matte, no redness had broken through, slight shiniest on the tip of my nose and forehead, but no fading and no patchiness.

So, what's the verdict?!
It a a beautiful foundation, I like the way it feels and looks on my skin,  I only wish it controlled oil like its predecessor.  Needless to say I will be purchasing a full sized bottle.

Is Double Wear a foundation you've tried yet?  What's your thoughts?

xoxo.

My Fantasy Hair

Special delivery from My Fantasy Hair!

Standard packaging as you can see:

20"- Deluxe 10pc Clip in Set, #2 Dark Chocolate- 180 grams!

These extension price tagged at $189.99

What I like about these hair extensions is that you have a choice of straight ends or natural ends.

(As you can see I chosen the natural ends)

Straight Ends: the ends of the hair are "bluntly" cut horizontally, and the ends of the hair will lie in a horizontal straight line. The horizontal line is very straight and un-natural looking.

Natural Ends: are of course more natural looking. They are cut vertically (up/down) similar to the process done by other stylist, giving the ends a slightly uneven, and "naturally grown" appearance.  This make extension blend seamlessly with your natural hair.

These are clip in hair extensions are made with the highest quality, Remy Human Hair.

Set includes:

(1 clip wefts)= 2 pieces- double wefted
(2 clip wefts)= 5 pieces- double wefted
(3 clip wefts)= 2 pieces- double wefted
(4 clip triple wefts)= 1 piece- 3 wefts on 1 strip
 Total pieces per set: 10
Total weight= 180 grams

Better Than Sex! Too Faced Mascara Review:

I recently bought this mascara and used it for the first time today! I am already in love with it! I am a mascara addict! On a typical day I don't wear much makeup, just brows, eyeliner and a several coats of mascara so I am extremely picky about my mascara. I've tried many different mascara from DS to high end and I have never loved one so much immediately after trying it!

Here's what this mascara claims:

1,944% more volume
93% saw base to tip curl
100% saw dramatic volume
100% saw longer lashes
90% saw dramatic look with one coat

It has an hourglass shape brush

Film-forming polymer: smudge-proof, all day wear

Acacia Senegal tree extract: to nourishes, thickens & locks curl in place

Unique peptides: deepest, intense black possible

So me and my lashes
* Slight mono lids with warm/oily skin (transfer and bleeding an issue).
* Short, sparse generally crappy lashes.
* I like to build the heck out of my lashes and get drama drama drama, even if I'm just going to the shop for some eggs, it's all or nothing dammit!

With one application:

2 coats:

And lastly 3 coats:

PROS:

* lovely packaging, a pink hefty metal tube
The ink is insanely black, though – definitely one of the blackest I’ve seen.
* no clumping, defines well
* great lengthening
* decent volumising, but with 3 coats it's amaze balls.
* no strange smells

CONS:

* $23, bit price to pay but still not too bad
* I find the brush to be a little too big for my small eyes and so I have to be watchful during the application or the inky black will get beyond the lashes and smear on my lids.
* I also find that the bristles pick up a lot of product and I have to rid the excess off before use.

*** Would I buy again? Yes, I surprisingly liked it, it reminds me of a better version of YSL Faux Cils but less expensive.

Note: you should wait between coats before applying another layer to avoid clumps.
